Bio
Ben Krantz has photographed people all over the United States. He started in 2000 photographing actors and comedians in Los Angeles in need of some headshots to get their careers going. He was a store manager and district trainer for a national photography retailer for 7 years. After spending years as an aspiring comedian and cinematographer, Ben decided to pursue a career as a photographer. In 2007 Ben joined Reflections Photography in Pleasant Hill. In June of 2008 he opened ben krantz STUDIO in Oakland's historic Jack London District where he has become one of the more sought after headshot photographers in the Bay Area.
Over the years Ben has accrued more than just his photographic experience. He has also produced numerous film and theatrical productions, mostly right here in the Bay Area. Getting to be be on the other side of the casting table, he has learned what directors, artistic directors, and casting directors look for and are drawn to in a headshot. He also serves on the Artistic Committee for Contra Costa Civic Theater in El Cerrito helping choose the season's shows and directors with the rest of the commitee. All of this leads to Ben's passion and talent for photographing actors, he knows not only how to bring out the best in them, but how to make sure their strengths and best possible looks come shining through.
