I’m Ben Krantz (he/him), and I’ve had the pleasure of photographing corporate professionals and talent across the globe since 2000. My journey began in Los Angeles, where I worked with actors and comedians in need of headshots to help launch their careers. In 2008, I opened Ben Krantz Studio in Oakland’s historic Jack London Warehouse District. I chose this area not just for its central location, but because it’s full of energy and creativity—plus, there’s no shortage of great backgrounds for photoshoots.

My approach to corporate headshots is all about capturing the real you in a modern, fresh way. Over the years, I’ve worked with executives from companies like Oracle, YouTube, Apple, Google, Levi’s, and Facebook, as well as entrepreneurs and small business owners who are doing incredible things. My work has appeared in magazines, books, and speaking engagements, and I’ve helped countless individuals perfect their LinkedIn profiles, corporate websites, and social media images. I also specialize in headshots for actors, models, and authors, ensuring they look their best for casting, portfolios, and book covers.

When it comes to working with companies, I make the process as smooth as possible by collaborating with teams to showcase each company's branding through their headshots. Whether I’m working with a single executive or an entire team, I ensure that every headshot aligns with the company’s unique identity while capturing the personality of each individual. My goal is to make the experience seamless, efficient, and tailored to highlight the professionalism and branding of your organization.

In addition to corporate and actor headshots, I have a deep passion for theatre photography. I’ve had the honor of working with organizations like Berkeley Rep, Shotgun Players, Berkeley Playhouse, and the Lesher Center, which has given me a unique understanding of what casting directors and producers are looking for in a headshot. This experience allows me to bring out not just your best look, but your true personality and strengths as well.

I also serve on the advisory committee for the photography program at Eden Area ROP, where I love mentoring up-and-coming photographers. Oakland is my home, and I’m proud to live here with my amazing wife and our two adorable, yet crazy pups. It’s a city that has so much to offer, especially when it comes to food—and yes, I’ll happily talk your ear off about that!
